I'm a Fashion Designer turned Developer.
My love for development stems from a love of problem solving. I enjoy true crime, mysteries, puzzles, riddles - anything that I can mull on throughout the day. An instructor once described my debugging style as “being a detective on the case,” and that was before they knew about all the true crime podcasts.
The ability to have a fulfilling career that affords me the opportunity to use my professional skills for meaningful work motivated me to finally take the plunge and work towards becoming a developer. My ability to sew a garment or design an accessory doesn’t translate all that well to doing community work or spreading equity whereas the ability to bring sustainable and inclusive ideals to the services we use everyday is an actually achievable way to work towards a positive social impact.
When I'm not programming, you can find me baking or working my way (slowly but determinedly) through translated Japanese pattern-making books.
